House Committee To Investigate Trump's ‘Theft’ Of 15 Boxes of Classified Records

Updated: Feb 11, 2022

The House Oversight Committee has announced that they are going to be investigating Donald Trump's "theft" of records from the White House that were recovered recently at Mar-a-Lago.

The penalty for destroying or removing records, according to the Presidential Records Act, includes prison terms of up to 3 years and even being barred from holding office ever again. While the investigation is needed, it should be the DOJ looking into this, NOT the House of Representatives.
